Afreet is a project exploring the aesthetic possibilites of electronic music. Combining familiar sounds and rhythms with more experimental devices, Afreet attempts to create what can best be described as a surreal listening experience - one forged from the most basic forms, expressing the most basic ideas.
Bringing together hardware and software synthesis, doctored samples, and real-time effects with filtered ambient recordings and abstract guitar and bass, Afreet creates music intended not to tell a story, but rather, to capture a moment; a feeling; an instantaneous mood.
Afreet has crafted remixes for Limiter and The Aleph, and also peforms live keyboards and computer-driven loops for the Inversion Effect project.
